Skeletons in the Closet: Life and Death as a Bone

In death, the stories of the departed often fade away with the memories of those who knew them. But what if the inanimate objects that witnessed their passing could tell their tales? Imagine the secrets and mysteries they could unravel. In this four-part series, we will explore the perspectives of four such objects: a set of bones, a field of dry bones, a burial shroud and a massive stone.

Christian Perspective – The Four Tendency Perspectives

Understanding one’s own tendencies and the tendencies of those around them can help Christians build better relationships and overcome challenges. For example, an Upholder may struggle to understand why a Rebel is resistant to authority but recognising that it is a fundamental part of their nature can help them find ways to work together more effectively.

Why Good Systematic Doctrinal Teaching is Vital for the Spiritual Health of the Church.

Hey there! Did you hear about the recent State of Theology survey? It found that a lot of American evangelicals (and if it’s true of the USA it’s true of us Brits as well) are starting to have some trouble with their theology. In fact, over half of them hold views about God that are considered heretical. That’s pretty concerning, right?

Life Is Full of Uncertainties

Life can often be unpredictable, and we may find ourselves facing challenges and uncertainties that shake our faith and make us feel lost. However, as believers, we have a source of strength and hope that is unchanging and reliable. God’s promises are steadfast and true, and we can always trust in His love, grace, and mercy.

The Resurrection of Lazarus

The Resurrection of Lazarus.
The story of Lazarus has a fundamental impact upon all who declare that they are of the Christian faith. In this short message we look at it once again and in doing so I trust it will bless, encourage and spur us on.
It is presented in: English, Portuguese, French, Turkish, Ukrainian and Chinese.

The Voice of God

Have you ever heard the term “Voice of God”? It refers to the idea that God communicates with us through a still, small voice inside us and it’s a concept that is present in many religions and spiritual practices. However, with all the other loud and conflicting voices we hear in our daily lives, it can be hard to hear the Voice of God clearly.

Safe in Christ

Today, I’m addressing my thoughts and deliberations with a sense of inspiration towards those that the songwriter says “ Have dreams that have fallen apart” to those who have “tired and broken hearts” to those who when you look into their eyes think that “they are on their own” and what I want to say to you, and to do so with all sincerity and enthusiasm that – “You are not on your own.”

What it Means to Walk Empowered By Christ!

The Bible provides the foundation for the idea of the freedom that comes through Christ. The only way to obtain freedom – real freedom – a freedom which is enjoined to liberty – is to become familiar with and embrace Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour. When we make Him the centre of our lives, we are liberated from the shackles of sin and the sentence of death. As children of God, we are granted a new identity, and we are commanded to walk in the freedom that Christ gives us, and we are empowered to do so.

REACHING MUSLIMS and CHRISTIAN VIEWS

When sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with a Muslim who doesn’t speak much English, it is important to be patient and use simple language. Getting to know a Muslim and their religion and culture is the first step in sharing the Gospel with them. Visual aids such as photos, films, and illustrations can be used to ensure the other person fully understands the message. To effectively share the Gospel, emphasise God’s love and respond to inquiries with honesty and dignity. Jesus used parables to communicate the gospel message, such as the parable of the prodigal son. Pray for the person with whom you are sharing the Gospel, recognise the shared values of Christianity and Islam, emphasise the importance of Jesus to Islam, and remember that most Muslims reject Jesus’ divinity. Being respectful and humble in your approach to this topic and keeping your attention on the good news of salvation rather than doctrinal disputes will help to reach people with the gospel. Prayer and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are the most effective means of sharing the Gospel with a Muslim.
