The Sentinel Stone: A Tomb’s Guardian Speaks

The Sentinel Stone: A Tomb’s Guardian Speaks

Intro:

In death, the stories of the departed often fade away with the memories of those who knew them. But what if the inanimate objects that witnessed their passing could tell their tales? Imagine the secrets and mysteries they could unravel. In this four-part series, we will explore the perspectives of four such objects: a set of bones, a field of dry bones, a burial shroud and a massive stone.

I am the stone that was rolled in front of the tomb where Christ was laid. I represent strength, immovability, and power. I was placed there to ensure that no one could enter or exit the tomb. I was heavy, massive, and unyielding. I thought I was invincible and that nothing could move me.

However, little did I know that God’s power is greater than any physical strength or power that I could ever possess. On the day that Christ rose from the dead, God’s power was demonstrated in a way that I had never experienced before.

As I felt a great force push against me, I began to move, slowly at first, but then faster and faster until I was completely moved away from the entrance of the tomb. I was amazed at what was happening, and I realised that my strength and power were nothing compared to God’s infinite power.

I was honoured to be used by God to reveal His incredible power to the world. I was just a simple stone, but God chose me to play a crucial role in the most significant event in human history. And at that moment, I knew that God’s power was greater than anything I had ever known.

As I now sit in my new place, away from the tomb, I am grateful for the role that I played in God’s plan. I am reminded that even the strongest and most immovable objects are no match for God’s power. And I am thankful that I was able to witness that power first-hand.
