The Difference between Hunger and Appetite.

I’ve been thinking about something I read in the Bible recently, and I wanted to share it with you. It’s about this idea of hunger versus appetite, and how it relates to our lives and faith.

In this article, I want to try and provide a balance however between the fervour, enthusiasm and engagement that the Body of Christ may put into these two sporting events (football/soccer and tennis.) plus others.

In addition, to explore the stark contrast between the societal fervent interest and cultural obsession with sports and our often-lukewarm approach and indifferent attitude to spiritual matters of eternal significance i.e. “Winning the Lost for Jesus.” and how this is reflected in the fulfilment and the outworking of the “Great Commission.”

Exploring Truth in an Ever-Evolving World.

Allow me to present a provocative idea. “The veracity of a statement is not established by the consensus of the majority.” Consider the scenario when we attempt to establish the rule of gravity by a committee decision! Preposterous and ridiculous, correct? Of course it is. We do not create God’s truth; it’s discovered via exploration, rather than being fabricated, we seek it out. It’s quite similar to archaeology in that we uncover long-lost artefacts by digging them up and removing the dust, we uncover what has always there.
