Hebrews 1:1-4
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. – King James Version (KJV)
As we celebrate this Easter or at any other time it’s good to bring to mind afresh what Jesus our Saviour accomplished for us in His Death & Resurrection let’s not forget – Who He Is, What He Is and at the same time rejoice and glorify Him for what he has provided for us.
In Hebrews 1:1-4 we are told what our Father God declared of Jesus. He was declared:
- Prophet
- Heir of all things
- Creator
- Revealer of the Fathers Glory
- Portrayer of Gods Character
- Sustainer
- Purged of sins
- Excelling the angels
- Inheritor of a more excellent name
As a result of all of these things we now discover that He Jesus.
- Is Warrior King over Sin
- Is Warrior King over Death
- Is Warrior King over Satan
- Is Warrior King over Hell
His resurrection life flows through us and as we are partakers of His divine nature we can live like Him.
He has broken the “indwelling power of sin” and as such we no longer need to live like – Paupers, Slaves, Defeated Lives and as Orphans out in the cold.
Up from the grave He arose with a mighty victory over His foes and He lives forever with His saints to reign.
Hallelujah what a Saviour.
God Bless You
